ESCAPE aims to address the Open Science challenges shared by ESFRI facilities (SKA, CTA, KM3Net, EST, ELT, HL-LHC, FAIR) as well as other pan- European research infrastructures (CERN, ESO, JIVE) in astronomy and particle physics. ESCAPE actions will be focused on developing solutions for the large data sets handled by the ESFRI facilities. These solutions shall: i) connect ESFRI projects to EOSC ensuring integration of data and tools; ii) foster common approaches to implement open-data stewardship; iii) establish interoperability within EOSC as an integrated multi-messenger facility for fundamental science. ESCAPE will benefit the expertise in computing and data management by setting up a data infrastructure beyond the current state-of-the-art in support of the FAIR principles.

Lead of Task 4.1 “Integration of astronomy VO data and services into the EOSC”: participating in the Astronomical Virtual Observatory activity since the very beginning in 2000, INAF has relevant international reputation and experts. We coordinate activities to interface the VO framework with the EOSC through assessment of the VO standard and integration and development of VO-compliant services in EOSC. Lead of Task 5.4 “Integration with HPC and HTC infrastructures”. INAF has an internationally recognized expertise due to a long tradition in participating in projects for the definition and implementation of national and international HPC and HTC infrastructures and to the emerging expertise in new hardware and software technologies for HPC. We coordinate the effort to study and develop tools to facilitate access to HPC and HTC resources through science analysis platforms
