The combination of exquisite photometry from the ongoing space missions (Kepler/K2, TESS, Gaia) and high-resolution spectroscopy from ground-based facilities is a unique opportunity to address the long standing problem of the generation and evolution of magnetic fields in stars. In this project we intend to use improved dynamo models and new asteroseismic Rossby number calibrations to study the relationship between classical stellar activity diagnostic, and fundamental stellar properties in order to interpret current data in terms of dynamo actions in low-mass stars. We anticipate that our results will be of crucial relevance to fully exploit the scientific output of the ESA PLATO and Gaia missions.
