L'obiettivo di questo progetto applicativo PRIN MUR 2022 è quello di studiare e realizzare un innovativo sistema di ricezione per impianti radioastronomici basato su ARoF (Analog Radio over Fiber) che offra una forte e maggiore stabilità contro perturbazioni esterne (come variazioni di temperatura o vibrazioni) che hanno un impatto significativo sull'ampiezza e fase del segnale di interesse. Per raggiungere questo obiettivo, il sistema sarà composto da due principali caratteristiche innovative, tipicamente non presenti nei collegamenti ARoF:
- un sistema integrato di misurazione del ritardo indotto dalla fibra
- un sistema di compensazione di ampiezza e fase
The objective of this PRIN MUR application project is to study and realize an innovative ARoF-based system of reception for radioastronomic plants which will offer a strong and higher stability against external perturbations (such as temperature variations or vibrations) which have a significant impact on amplitude and phase of the signal of interest.
- Integrated Fiber-induced delay measurement system
- Amplitude and Phase compensation system
A Wideband ARoF system with those features will be realized within the ROBUST project.

<p>INAF-IRA, in particolare il radiotelescopio e il laboratorio di Medicina (BO) e l'Università di Bologna.</p><p>Successivamente si vorrebbe testare il sistema sugli altri radiotelescopi italiani (SRT e Noto).</p>
