La missione NASA/ASI, The Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer(IXPE), ha aperto una nuova finestra sulla luce polarizzata in banda X. In particolare, la radiazione polarizzata, emessa da una binaria X (LMXB), dà informazioni sulla geometria della regione dove avviene la Comptonizzazione e sullo spin del BH. Campagne di osservazioni simultanee ad IXPE sono in corso sia con satelliti in banda X che con telescopi in altre bande. Questo consente di avere, insieme ai dati polarimetrici, degli spettri ad alta risoluzione e a larga banda. Inoltre, recenti studi teorici si sono concentrati sulla radiazione X polarizzata emessa dalle LMXB. Grazie ai dati raccolti ed alla teoria, studiamo la geometria e lo spin nelle LMXB.
The NASA/ASI mission, The Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer(IXPE), has opened
a new window on polarized light in the X-ray band. The polarized radiation emitted from an X-ray binary(LMXB) can give informations about the geometry of the region where the Comptonization occurs and about the spin of the BH.
Simultaneous observation campaigns with IXPE are on going both with X-ray satellite and with other wavelengths telescopes. This allows to have, together with the polarimetric data, high-resolution spectra in broad energy-band. Moreover, recent theoretical studies have focused on the X-ray polarised radiation emitted from LMXB. Thanks to the collected data and the theoretical works, we study the geometry and the spin in LMXBs
