ERIS e SHARK-NIR sono strumenti a forte partecipazione INAF. Fra i loro scopi scientifici c'è l'imaging di stelle giovani e vicine e del loro ambiente di formazione. ERIS è operativo a VLT mentre SHARK-NIR ha iniziato nell’autunno 2023 le proprie osservazioni scientifiche a LBT. Per un adeguato sfruttamento di questi strumenti, sono stati sviluppati algoritmi adeguati ad applicare tecniche di alto contrasto. La lista di target per SHARK comprende oggetti della regione di formazione stellare del Toro assieme a oggetti che presentano anomalie del moto proprio (indice della presenza di un compagno) ottenute grazie al catalogo DR3 di Gaia. Inoltre ottenendo immagini di dischi protoplanetari avremo ulteriori informazioni sui sistemi planetari in formazione.
ERIS and SHARK-NIR are instruments with strong INAF partecipation. They have between their scientific goals the imaging of extrasolar planets around young and nearby stars and of their formation environment. ERIS is now operative at VLT while SHARK-NIR begun its scientific obseravtions during autumn 2023 at LBT. To adequately exploit these instruments, we developed custom algorithms to apply high-contrast techniques. The list of targets for SHARK comprises object in the stellar formation region of the Taurus and objects presenting proper motion anomalies (indicating the presence of a companion) obtained through Gaia DR3. Furthermore, images of protoplanetary disks will allow to obtain fundamental informations about the planetary systems in their formation stage.

<p>INAF led the building of the SHARK-NIR instrument. INAF also led the preparation of the software for the data reduction and the scientific exploitation of the instrument data (SHARP; written in Python). </p><p>INAF scientists prepared a dedicated data reduction pipeline for the NIX-APP observing mode of ERIS.</p>
<p>SHARK-NIR is installed at the Large Binocular Telescope (LBT)</p><p>ERIS is installed at the Very Large Telescope (VLT)</p>
