HENON is a pathfinder mission for Space Weather forecasting and science. HENON foresees one 12U CubeSat on an unexplored Distant Retrograde Orbit of the Sun-Earth system, so that the HENON will spend a long period well beyond L1 at least ~0.1 AU. The payload is a state of the art, high TRL radiation monitor that will enable the first real time monitoring of the particle radiation environment in the deep space. HENON Phase A/B study was successfully concluded in April this year and the Phase C1 is currently going on in the framework of the General Support Technology Programme of ESA. HENON is part of the ASI program Alcor.

<p>INAF has the role of Principal Investigator and WP leader of the WP "Science" and "Payload Analysis and Trade-off".</p>
<p>It is foreseen a possible synergy with the Sardinia Radio Telescope. This could be an important infrastructure augmenting the capability of receiving Space Weather alarms during the operational Phase of the mission.</p>

HENON has been proposed in the framework of the ASI Call "Future Missioni Cubesat" and selected as a candidate mission to be funded and developed within the ESA General Support Program Element 3 "Fly". Phase A/B activities should started in August 2022. The ammount of funding reported here is relative to the INAF Phase A/B activities.
