Il progetto SLab tools è finalizzato a facilitare e semplificare il lavoro svolto presso il Laboratorio di Spettroscopia (SLAB), presso l’istituto IAPS. Si compone di tre diversi strumenti: un’app, un’app web e un database. L’idea iniziale è nata analizzando la lentezza del lavoro nei laboratori e la frammentarietà del deposito di dati. Un database (DB) viene utilizzato per i suoi vantaggi in termini di integrità dei dati, accesso tramite autorizzazione e pianificazione di backup automatici. L’app web fornisce un modo per accedere ai dati al di fuori del laboratorio e per diffondere i dati alla comunità scientifica, aumentando così il valore scientifico dei dati e valorizzando l’importanza del laboratorio e dell’INAF generando citazioni su articoli scientifici.
The SLab tools project is aimed to help and ease work done at Spectroscopy LABoratory (SLAB) , located at the IAPS institute. It consists of three different instruments: an app, a web app and a database.
The starting idea was born analyzing the slowness of the work in the laboratories and the fragmentariness of data depository, where old style tools are still used.
A database (DB) is used for its advantages in terms of integrity of data, access by authorization and planning for automatic backups.
The web app provides a way for accessing data outside the laboratory and to spread data to the scientific community thus increasing the scientific value of the data and enhances the importance of the laboratory, and of the INAF by generating citations on scientific papers.

21. Fondi a Sostegno Iniziativa
The SLab Tools project has the goal of developing tools aimed to help and promote the activities of SLab laboratory @ IAPS. The tools are already under development and the request for funding is due to economic resources needed mainly in the final step: the web app needs a place to be published. Publishing articles dedicated to the work and participating to congresses are also activities that require to be funded. We started by defining the main goals of the project in terms of capabilities and then started the development by adding only a few capabilities. The next phase of development has two main goals: adding several features necessary to transform the prototype into a valuable instrument for scientific activities and publishing it and making it available for the scientific community. In the following, why the SLab Tools are a valuable help for laboratory activities, reasons that lead to decision of using the selected technologies and the plans are explained.
