An open question is the central engine and remnant of CC-SNs: a NS or BH. We propose GW-observations of CC-SNe by applying the un-modeled observation of GW170817B/GRB170817A. The horizon distance is 160Mpc following a scaling by BH mass. These GW-observations will be key to understanding long GRBs with THESEUS.

With THESEUS, INAF is taking leadership in high-energy observations of ultra-high redshift GRBs. As probes of massive star formation, THESEUS promises to complement recent JWST observations of the early galaxy formation at cosmic dawn. These observations are deemed essential to constraining beyond ΛCDM cosmology.

The present proposal is focused on GW-EM probes of the physics of core-collapse of massive stars in the Local Universe. The present proposal hereby serves to constrain the mass-range of progenitors to CC-SNe producing black holes and, by implication, SN Ib/c events producing long GRBs. With redshifts expected to extend to cosmic dawn, THESEUS/INAF is hereby taking leadership alongside JWST in radically new observational constraints on the expansion of the Universe soon after the Big Bang.

At Sejong University, we have a dedicate 300 TeraFLOP GPU-cluster with load-balanced processing under synaptic parallel processing.
